Finding your "village" is hard enough, but doing it thousands of miles away from your own support network? That’s a whole different level of parenting. Welcome to The Milk Cafe, a dedicated space for expat mums to find connection, clarity, and a good cup of tea. Whether you are navigating your first week of breastfeeding or are months into your journey and just need to talk to someone who gets it, this is your home away from home. What to Expect: Expert Guidance: As a qualified lactation consultant, I’ll be on hand to answer your questions, troubleshoot latches, and provide evidence-based information—no "old wives' tales" here. Expat Connections: Meet other mums who understand the unique highs and lows of raising a baby in a foreign country. A Moment of Calm: Enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, and a selection of snacks while your baby feeds (or naps!) in a safe, judgment-free zone. Community Building: We aren't just a clinic; we’re a community. Come for the breastfeeding support, stay for the friendships that make living abroad feel a lot less lonely. Booking and Cancellation Policy
1. Reservations & Payment Book in advance via the website to secure your spot. Payment is required at booking. If a session is full, join the waitlist — you'll be notified by email if a spot opens. 2. Cancellations & Refunds Life with a baby is unpredictable! Legal right to withdraw: within 14 days of booking, you can cancel for any reason and get a full refund, provided the session hasn't happened yet. See emmaokane.com/withdrawal-widerruf to exercise this. Once your 14 days have passed: – More than 24h before the session: full credit for a future date. – Less than 24h before: non-refundable (venue/refreshments are already committed) — but feel free to gift your spot to another mum, just tell us her name! Sessions I cancel are refunded in full. 3. Health & Safety Please don't attend if you or your baby have had a fever, vomiting, or diarrhoea in the last 48h, or have a persistent cough or new rash — some of our members are only days old. Miss a session due to sudden illness? Email emmaokane.bfb@gmail.com and I'll do my best to move your booking. 4. Scope of Support Milk Cafe offers group peer support and general lactation guidance. It's not a substitute for a private clinical consultation — for medical history, weight-gain plans, or oral assessments, I may recommend a 1-on-1 session. 5. Privacy & Environment What's shared in the group stays in the group. Please don't photograph other mothers/babies without consent (share your coffee & cake on Instagram, just keep the background private!). 6. Liability You remain responsible for your child's safety and supervision throughout the session. A Note for Fellow Expats Bus late, diaper leaked, just moved here and got lost?
